INDIANAPOLIS — For the sixth straight game, the Pacers shot under 40 percent and scored less than 90 points. An offense struggling that much was no match for the league’s hottest team, the San Antonio Spurs.

After an emotional win over the Miami Heat, the Pacers have dropped three straight, losing 103-77 to the Spurs Monday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Playing at home has been a saving grace for this team. Monday, it was a different story. The entire atmosphere at Bankers Life felt different even before the tip. Fans are getting restless and beginning to fear that this is more than just a slump. There were even some boos from the crowd a few times in this game.

When the offense is struggling, taking care of the basketball is even more important. The Pacers committed 16 turnovers which resulted in 23 points for the Spurs. Tony Parker led the way with 22 points and the Spurs controlled the game throughout.

The Pacers finish the month of March with an 8-10 record, and the lowest points per game average in the entire NBA for the month.

Evan Turner only played seven minutes and didn’t score. David West and Luis Scola combined for 3-of-12 shooting.  It’s been a struggle to say the least.

Right now, the Pacers need to focus on themselves and nobody else. Time is running out to right the ship.

“Seeding right now is the last thing on our minds,” coach Frank Vogel said. “What’s on our minds is the next game and trying to find an offensive rhythm.”

With another Miami win, how will the Pacers respond to not being in first place for the first time all season?

“It will be a reality check,” Paul George said. “Hopefully it lights a fuel under us. Somewhere it’s got to be found.”

The Pacers dropped just their fifth home game of the season. They’ll be back in action at home Wednesday night against Detroit.
