New Pacer Miles Plumlee adjusting to pro game

First-round pick Miles Plumlee debuted in the Knox Indy Pro-Am on Tuesday and had his moments as his red team dropped an 86-83 decision to the Royal Blue squad.

Plumlee had a particularly nice reverse windmill dunk that left the crowd a bit stunned. He finished with 14 points and six rebounds. He showed bursts of athleticism, good footwork in the post and a willingness to put his back to the basket, something today’s centers generally aren’t interested in. He bounced out to the 3-point area just a bit too often for my liking, but he has said all along that he has unknown offensive skills because he didn’t need to shoot at Duke.

Fellow new Pacer Orlando Johnson scored 24 points, but the team couldn’t get him the ball down three in the closing seconds.

For the record, Darius Adams darn near brought the fire department out. He scored 30 points – 15 in each half – to lead his team to victory.
