The Sabercats increased their win total from one in 2019 to three in 2020, and the immediate future looked bright. In his ideal scenario, the dominant freshman team that lost just once last season would combine with several key upperclassmen to form a foundation of a program that could become a powerhouse in Oklahoma. Players were talking about championships — just like the city titles that many players in the Class of 2024 won in junior high at Highland West in 2018 and 2019. Most of the best players transferred, and now Norman is picking up the pieces.
