The Pike Red Devis move to the #1 spot in this week’s AP poll in 4A after Fishers upset then-#1 Carmel.  3A number four Guerin Catholic and 2A number one Park Tudor both have big matchups this coming week.  Here’s a look back at this past week’s big games:

Fishers 63, #1 Carmel 57

After playing even for three periods, Fishers outscored the visiting Greyhounds 20-14 in the 4th to knock off the defending 4A champions.  Senior Sean Lonergan led the Tigers with 18 points, which was matched by Michael Volovic of the Greyhounds.

Ben Davis 51, #3 Warren Central 50, OT

Michael Beaty scored a layup with 2.6 seconds left in overtime to give Ben Davis the victory over the Warriors.  Tony Wills led the way for the Giants with 25 points, while Devin Davis paced Warren Central with 19.

#2 Pike 76, Columbus North 74

Zavier Turner hit a 15-footer at the buzzer to give Pike the victory.  Turner led Pike with 20 points; Tori Jackson and Josh Speidel led Columbus North with 18 points each.

#7 Hamilton SE 82, #10 North Central 77

Zak Irvin poured in 33 points as the Royals held off the Panthers.  Darius Latham had 29 points and 13 rebounds for North Central.  Eron Gordon was held in check, scoring only eight points.

Here are the top games for the coming week:

#1 Pike at #6 Warren Central

The senior-led Red Devils, who climbed to the number one spot in the AP poll this week, are led by Taishaun Johnson and Jordan Pickett at 19 points per game.  Devin Davis will need to have a big game for the Warriors to be successful in this one.

Lawrence North at 3A #4 Guerin Catholic

Interesting matchup between perennial power Lawrence North and the defending 3A state champs Guerin Cathlolic.  Guerin coach Pete Smith is no stranger to the Wildcats, having coached against Jack Keefer during his days at Carmel.  LN is led by Purdue recruit Basil Smotherman, while Aaron Brennan will lead the Golden Knights.

2A #1 Park Tudor at North Central

Park Tudor is off to a 5-0 start in the post-Yogi Ferrell era.  They are led by Trevon Bluett.  North Central is struggling at 3-3, but they have the talent to play with anyone, and Doug Mitchell should make this team a factor as the season goes on.
