BLOOMINGTON — After missing three games recently with an ankle injury, Indiana forward O.G. Anunoby made his presence felt Monday night. Following a shaky return in Saturday’s loss to Butler, the sophomore played like the standout Coach Tom Crean expected him to be in a 103-56 win.

In 26 minutes on Saturday, Anunoby tallied seven points and seven rebounds. After just 19 minutes off the bench on Monday, he amassed an impressive stat line of 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a career-high four blocks.

Crean was very aware of the difference between the two games. “He played the other day like it was his first game back in some period of time,” Crean said. “Tonight he played like he’s capable of.”

While Anunoby’s contributions were significant, he was only part of a pure team effort. James Blackmon, Jr. came through with 18 points, Robert Johnson had 16, and Thomas Bryant finished with 14.

IU was ahead 54-30 at half-time, their best scoring half of the year. They then used a quick 15-4 run to go ahead 69-34 and never looked back. There were multiple times with 50 point leads, which allowed IU to unload their bench and rest their starters after a quick turnaround from the slug-fest on Saturday night.

Going forward, Indiana (9-2) plays Austin Peay (4-8) Thursday night in its final game before entering conference play against Nebraska on December 28th.
