Fan primer for Purdue Alumni Game

From Purdue sports information:

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – With the Purdue men’s basketball program’s inaugural alumni game/intrasquad scrimmage fast approaching, fans may find the following details helpful in planning to attend the event at Mackey Arena.

The alumni game is set to tip off at 2 p.m. ET on Keady Court. Legendary former head coach Gene Keady is set to coach one of the alumni teams, while current Purdue head coach Matt Painter will pilot the other.

Immediately following the alumni game, fans will get their first look at the 2012-13 Purdue squad when the Boilermakers put on an intrasquad scrimmage. In addition to returning eight letterwinners from last season’s NCAA Tournament team, including reigning Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year D.J. Byrd, the Boilers welcome a consensus top-20 recruiting class to campus this summer.

All men’s basketball alumni in attendance will be introduced during halftime of the intrasquad scrimmage.

The alumni game will be played in two 20-minute halves. The intrasquad scrimmage will consist of three 10-minute periods to simulate what the Boilermakers will see on their upcoming tour of Italy.
