The starters played through the start of the third quarter. Now the team prepared for the roster to be trimmed from 90 players to 75 by Tuesday.
The Indy travels to play in its final preseason game on Thursday. And next Saturday, the roster will be reduced from 75 players down to 53.
“They’re all fighting for jobs,” Colts coach Chuck Pagano said. “They’re all fighting for roster spots.”
Adam Vinatieri kicked a 32-yard field goal at the end of the Colts’ first drive to give Indianapolis a 3-0 lead with 8:56 left in the first quarter.
The Colts took a 10-0 lead when Luck threw a 3-yard pass to Stanley Havili with 8:09 left in the second quarter and T.Y. Hilton caught an 8-yard touchdown pass at the start of the third to make it 17-0.
Reggie Wayne had 79 yards on seven receptions. Kerwynn Williams had 37 yards rushing on nine carries.
LaRon Landry, who the Colts acquired through free agency during the offseason, made his Colts debut after battling an injury throughout camp. He had three tackles.
“LaRon is just coming out of the tunnel,” Pagano said. “He brings a lot to the table. It was great to have that starting unit back there.”
Cleveland’s first score came late in the third quarter on a 50-yard field goal. They scored again in the fourth on a 44-yard kick.
