Dragash’s prep football Friday Night Lights Prognostications

All right folks, two weeks of picks, two 3-2 records to show for it, which makes me 6-4 on the season.  Keep in mind I only pick games that figure to be competitive; I could go for games that should be blowout city this week and boost my percentage, but I prefer to meet the challenge of calling the close ones.  So here we go again for week six of prep football:

Cincinnati Elder at Chatard (at Lawrence North)

Elder is 2-2 this season; one of their two losses came against Louisville Trinity, who is ranked in the top ten in some national high school football polls.  This should be competitive, but Chatard benefits from not having to travel.

Greenwood at Guerin Catholic

Guerin is only 1-4, but they are getting healthier.  Greenwood is on a roll, coming off a convincing 31-3 win over Plainfield last week.

Greenwood 35, Guerin 14

Louisville Trinity at Cathedral (at Lucas Oil Stadium)

MaxPreps has Trinity at number one in the nation; Cathedral’s brutal schedule gets worse.  The Irish will compete, but too much Trinity here.

Trinity 38, Cathedral 17

Roncalli vs. Brebeuf (at Lucas Oil Stadium)

Brebeuf is flying under the radar at 4-1; their only loss came at the hands of Chatard in week one.  Roncalli’s only loss also was to Chatard in week three in overtime.  Both teams are well coached; Roncalli has been on the big stage before, however.

Roncalli 24, Brebeuf 17

Whiteland at Martinsville

A battle of 3-2 teams who have played similar schedules to this point.  They both share a loss to Decatur Central; Whiteland’s other loss is to Center Grove, and Martinsville lost to Greenwood.  This should be a good one.

Martinsville 24, Whiteland 20
